Ms. Morris and Ms. Stinson each will receive $20,000, which will be disbursed over four years.
The IQMS Scholarship aims to foster the development of local talent who can bring skills and leadership to San Luis Obispo County businesses after their college education is completed. It is offered to current members of the graduating class of a San Luis Obispo County high school who are planning to enroll full-time at an approved four-year college and to major in a STEM field. Eligible students need to exhibit a strong academic record, and involvement in their school and/or community activities.
“We are pleased by the number of qualified local high school students who submitted applications for the first year of this important scholarship offered to our community,” said Heidi McPherson, CEO of The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County. “This strong response can be attributed to the changing needs of our local students, and it highlights the strength of our corporate partnership with IQMS in helping the talented students of our county realize their aspirations.”
