IQMS and AIAG Introduce eAPQP Standards Development

(AIAG AutoTech, Detroit) Aug. 29, 2005 - At the AutoTech 2005 show held in Detroit, Michigan on August 30th and 31st, IQMS participated in a demonstration of new technology to send APQP and PPAP forms such as FMEAs and Part Submission Warrants (PSW) electronically. This technology uses XML to submit information to OEMs and suppliers using the Internet.

"This is easy to use, and will greatly reduce costs as it eliminates the need for hard copies of the forms used in the APQP and PPAP processes," states IQMS Product Manager, Phil Kibitt. "Initial submissions and revisions can now be done in a matter of minutes, reducing the amount of time it takes to bring products to market and ensuring that deadlines are met."

As a key member of the Automotive Industry Action Group's (AIAG) eAPQP workgroup, IQMS is a driving force in the development of this technology. The workgroup estimates that the standards being created as a result of these efforts will be available to the industry by March 31st, 2006.
