IQMS received dozens of nominations describing innovative projects that demonstrated true leadership in the manufacturing industry. To ensure an unbiased selection process, the top five nominations were sent to a panel of industry experts outside of the IQMS community. (Learn more about the judges.) Plastikos, Inc.
In a multi-stage, IQMS-based project, Plastikos, Inc. created an automated production labeling and tool tracking process. By creating press label stations, implementing automated, real-time production reporting at the press and establishing automated tool tracking through barcode labels, Plastikos has improved product quality, decreased lead times, reduced internal scrap rates and improved customer service. Gill Industries, Inc.
Gill Industries, Inc. recently underwent a shop floor transformation. Before embarking on its IQMS manufacturing ERP and MES software implementation, Gill Industries completely revamped the layout of its shop floor and then utilized the new flow (in combination with EnterpriseIQ) to achieve inventory locations and movement that provided accurate, real-time information throughout its organization. Miniature Precision Components, Inc. (MPC)
Miniature Precision Components, Inc. (MPC) implemented a three-phase lean initiative to improve an antiquated logistics situation within one of its assembly plants. Through installation of a new conveyor system, implementation of production reporting stations and establishment of a parts fulfillment system, MPC realized numerous benefits at each phase. Plastic Components, Inc. (PCI)
Plastic Components, Inc. (PCI) recently created a completely “lights out” manufacturing plant that operates without human intervention. From the central material handling system to the automated box conveyor system, PCI is utilizing IQMS software and network cameras to monitor the entire plant and ensure a completely automated molding process. Tessy Plastics Corporation
Tessy Plastics Corporation was in need of a solution to verify component information and eliminate costly assembly errors as its robots were automatically assembling goods. In collaboration with IQMS, Tessy Plastics integrated Bills of Materials directly into assembly PLCs for automatic part validation to ensure that the correct components were selected 100% of the time.
