Why Price Should Not Be the Final Factor When Purchasing ERP Software

The old adage, “Buy well, buy once,” may have originally been coined for consumer purchasing, but now more than ever it applies to ERP systems as well. What may seem like a great deal “off the shelf” (in this case, a free or very inexpensive ERP system) may in fact require more time and effort to tailor to your company’s needs. Choosing a manufacturing ERP system based primarily on pricing means that you will need to spend more time and money upgrading or customizing the system as your company grows. It’s important to set aside pricing and look carefully at how the current system is used and what the company actually needs.

When your company chooses an ERP system based on what its actual needs are, not the price of the system, you will see better results: faster delivery time, increased revenue and decreased time spent troubleshooting. Manufacturing ERP pricing should never be the deal-breaker, because a system that you buy based on your needs will ultimately save your company more money in the long run. IQFeature of the Week -- Manufacturing Intelligence

Did you know that...IQMS provides real time shop floor production performance data in easy to read dashboards?

IQMS EnterpriseIQ Manufacturing Intelligence interface provides real time manufacturing data and statistics directly from machines and machine level PLCs to increase plant floor visibility and productivity. Users define which performance and measurement parameters to capture and analyze for each item or tooling configuration thus providing flexibility to gather unique, job specific statistics. Unlike other applications where production and performance monitoring is provided via a third party application and maintained in a separate database, EnterpriseIQ RealTime™ peoduction monitoring is developed as an integral part of the complete Manufacturing ERP solution with data securely stored in the same data historian as ERP data. The result is Manufacturing Intelligence with unprecedented data visibility and traceability – and it is all automatic!...more
